Access to Healthcare for Youth Corps Members
Nigeria

ALVAINA recognizes the problem of limited access to healthcare due to financial and proximity problems that most Corps Members experience as they only receive allowances from the government and stipends from employers. Also, Corps Members are posted across the country—including very remote areas—to serve the nation. Thus, this research-based advocacy project urges the provision of free health care for Corps Members through the existing National Health Insurance Scheme. In the near future, this advocacy project shall expand to issues on the quality of healthcare facilities, promotion of medical records management, and improvement of healthcare service delivery—focusing on youths as a target population.
